The end! Look for this, and many other great stories, in the soon-to-be-available-for-preorders anthology Waterlogged: Tales from the Seventh Sea.

  1. Seriously? You’re still going on about that? Umm…well…hmmm…I suppose I can scrounge up some peanut oil and breading…and my unclke IS just lying there, getting his fish-stink all over everything…

There are, as it happens, MANY First Nations stories that end exactly like that- with a nation of personified animals offering up its own members as a future food source to humans, in exchange for that resource being eco-managed rather than over exploited.

I decided to leave the ending open at that point so as not to loose half my audience’s suspension of disbelief.
