A Mad Tea-Party 268

Let’s just assume they’ve been calling her Yui-Sama the whole way through the book (If I put tags everywhere they would actually go in Japanese, this book would be a pain to read in English).

And that, gentle readers, is that! There is one more page left, which I will post next week on schedule, but it’s just an end-paper and not new story material. You have now reached the end of A Mad Tea-Party. I hope it was worth the trip.

MY time with this story isn’t done yet, though. Please be sure to come back in September, because my next task is to assemble all of A Mad Tea-Party into one collected 288-page graphic novel, and I’m gonna need YOUR help to raise the money to print it! The impending arrival of a popular online fundraiser site to Canada (finally) perfectly coincides with my sudden need for thousands of book-printing dollars, so watch out! September’s gonna be a crazy month.

Wow. I didn’t see that coming, but knowing him I probably should have. Love that grin in the last panel.

  2. John says:

Roger gets the last word, creepy mask finally gets put to good use. A win all around!

  3. Jeff says:

    Very satisfying!

I would love to see you visit this world-line again someday, although truth to tell, three-and-a-half years is a long time to be telling one tale, and I’ve pretty much dug everywhere you’ve taken us – so no complaints from me so long as you keep spinning stories!

Also -> looking forward to the opportunity to support your upcoming publishing efforts!

Thanks! I may, yet, return to this world and spin some stories with some different characters. I have some ideas. We’ll see. But at the very least, I can say that the collected graphic novel will have a couple of new pages spliced into the middle, and they do flesh out the world just a little bit more. A very satisfying little bit more. So keep an eye out for that fundraiser! 😉

Three and a half years? Is that what you’re telling people, JD? By my reckoning, you’ve been doing A Mad Tea Party since 2004. Heck, the (late) review you have linked here is from 2008 (or maybe 7)…

  4. Mel says:

This was an amazing ride! I love the story and I love the world.

*Laughs* ROGER FTW!!! Whoo-HOOOOOOS!!! Yes, this was perfect closure~! Thank yous, and a very extra-special thank-you to ROGER! Who I think the girls may be visiting one or two times, you know…just to annoy the heck out of him~! *Giggles*

I just finished reading through this, in the unreal-feeling middle of night. It was excellent! Love yr work, JD. I want a copy of the book when they’re printed — I actually only realized after the fact that I didn’t get a kickstarter reward that came with one.

    • Jonathon says:

Hey Kathleen! Thanks a lot! As soon as these dang books are actually printed, I will definitely have copies that can be bought (and without having to be shipped, too).

Hi! I picked up the first 4 issues of “A Mad Tea Party” at a library book sale yesterday. I’m very grateful that you have the whole series online now, and I’m looking forward to checking out the rest of your work!
